March 2014’s ‘Spot a Clock’ is St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, located at S66 W14325 Janesville Road in Muskego.
St. Paul’s started as a small wooden church constructed on 2 acres of land in 1858. As the congregation grew, a brick church was built, and was dedicated in 1905. The small church features a beautiful pipe organ. The clock is currently cared for by Jerry Kurth, whose great-grandfather farmed land in the area and donated land for the church.

The clock is in original condition, complete with its original weights and pulley system. The steeple houses a well-preserved three-train Schwalbach clock movement. This clock is one of the last original, operating Schwalbach movements in existence. Recently, the clock experienced some operational issues. Through member Paul Schmitz, Mr. Kurth contacted Chapter 47, which has been providing some assistance with the clock.
