Presidents Message,|
Next meeting is September 13, 2026
We will continue to need some help setting up and taking down. So arrive at 9:00 and help setup and stay after the educational talk to help return the room in the condition, we found it in. Thank you for your help in this.
Nancy has volunteered to make coffee for the group. Thank you very much Nancy.
Some of our meetings will be in the lower hall if conflicts arise with American Legion Hall. So, look for us in either hall.
Mike gave a talk on Gear Cutting. It centered around his current work on cutting gears for his Congreve clock. He showed cutting the blanks from flat brass plate including crossing out on his 3-D mill. Then the teeth were cut with commercial cutters on a Shirline Mill setup.
He also showed a gear he cut out of some phenolic material gear with his 3-D mill for an electric clock including the teeth.
Doors open at 9:00 for setup and mart. The educational talk at 11:00 is Clock Movements 101 by Mike Dempsey.
