Our Next Mart is November 15th, 2026

Presidents Message,

Next meeting is November 15, 2026

We will continue to need some help setting up and taking down.  So arrive at 9:00 and help setup and stay after the educational talk to help return the room in the condition we found it in.  Thank you for your help in this.

Nancy has volunteered to make coffee for the group.  Thank you again Nancy.

Some of our meetings will be in the lower hall if conflicts arise with American Legion Hall.  Look for us in either hall.

Due to unforeseen circumstances Danno presented a talk on early horological tools. He talked about early texts on tools and how the authors and toolmakers copied and borrowed from each other. He then described early tool catalogs and how the dealers copied each other and earlier texts. He explained how the invention of tool catalogs changed the horological tool industry, and then showed a nice series of pictures of early tools and the catalogs they could be ordered from. Thanks for filling in at last minute.

Doors open at 9:00 for setup and mart. The educational talk will be at 11:00 by Chuck Schmidt of Schmidt’s Antiques Inc.  He runs clock auctions in the Detroit area.  He has said he will deliver clocks to the meeting to anyone who has won one at the auction.  Take advantage of this offer.
Chuck will discuss today’s horological market.

There will not be a board meeting in until after the January meeting.
